About Saeris
A literary invention, borne by protagonist of the popular fantasy book series, The Fae & Alchemy by Callie Hart, Saeris has a mystical feel but is also reminiscent of more familiar choices like Sarah and Iris.
Given its invented status, there is no definitive meaning of the name, however, it could have been inspired by the aforementioned Sarah, or perhaps by Ceres, Seraphina, Cerys, Aerith, Eris, Aries, or similar. Additionally, Sær is a quietly used Icelandic name meaning "sea", while as a word, Saer- could mean "evening" in Norman, "craftsman or artisan" in Welsh, "to know" in Venetian, or "eccentric, odd" in Danish.
Pronounced SAIR-iss.
