About Rozymund
Created in the 17th-century by Polish poet, Szymon Zimorowic, Rozymund appears in Roksolanki, that is, Ruthenian Maidens, a collection of 69 songs written as a wedding gift for Zimorowic's older brother, Józef Bartłomiej. Sometimes appearing as Rosymund too, Rozymund may be interpreted as a masculine variation of Rosamund ("horse protection") or perhaps of Rosemann or Rosmann ("rose man"), or perhaps as a blending of Róża and Edmund ("protector of the rose".)
Pronounced ROZ-ee-mund.
