Nimrodel

While Nimrodel may look like it could be related it the Biblical Nimrod, it is in fact a Sindarin name, borne by an elf maiden in Tolkien's legendarium. She is lost at sea while searching for her lover, and later, became the subject of the Song of Nimrodel, as sung by Legolas.

Combining the elements nim ("white") and grod ("cave") with the feminine suffix -iel, the name means "lady of the white cave", though some interpret the rod element as meaning "lofty star". It also appears in Tolkien's work as the name of a river, which may have been named for the elf maiden.
