Ngome

Ngome is a unisex Swahili name, associated with a shrine to the Virgin Mary in South Africa, where a Benedictine nun experienced as series of visions back in the 50s. It is known for being one of the most popular pilgrim sites in Africa.

Meaning "fortress" or "castle", the name is also linked to a fort in Tanzania, a forest South Africa, a species of chameleon, and a type of bread in Mali.
