Frimy

Frimy is an extremely rare feminine name with unclear origins. It may be a diminutive form of names containing the element 'Fri-' like Frieda or Frida, which derive from the Germanic word 'fridu' meaning 'peace.' Alternatively, it could be related to the Old Norse name Freyja, the goddess of love and fertility. Frimy has a whimsical, distinctive quality with its soft sound and unusual construction. The name is so uncommon that it has virtually no recorded usage in most name databases, making it an exceptionally unique choice. Its rarity means it carries little cultural baggage or preconceptions, allowing a child to truly define the name for themselves.

Pronounced FREEM-ee.

As of October 2026, Frimy ranked #7613 for girls in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #7033 for girls in 2023.
