Villa Origin and Meaning

The name Villa is a girl's name meaning "country house".

A word that carries a broad range of connotations across Europe, all of which ultimately derive from the Roman term for a country estate. Villa is well established as a surname, especially in Spanish-speaking countries, and has also occasionally been used as a first name for girls.

While we don't find the meaning especially inspiring -- it feels somehow both prosaic and gaudy -- we could imagine it sounding rather suave with the right last name. Sevilla, as in the Spanish city, is even better.
