Though I love the band Nirvana, it is the reason I would not use this name. I can see my daughter having to hear "oh, like the band?" each time she introduces herself, and my name has something like that and it makes me not like my name. If the band were not called Nirvana, I would consider the name Nirvana after my beliefs.

I love it, but like someone said, it's hard to pull of, and I if had a kid I would want him/her to own the name, not that their name owns them. Probably, in the future, it will lose its connotations.

Nirvana is a name that is not easy to pull off, and if you can't, then you're doomed, because you kind of have to be able to pull it off. Nirvana was an amazing grunge band, and it is also a word meaning a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, which is a very nice meaning.

I know people would see this name as trashy but I love it. I love the band, meaning, and sound. I'd definitely use it.

Sorry, but all I can think of is the band. If I ever run into a kid with this name, I think I'd just assume their parents were big music junkies or something.
