Hi there, another Abrielle here.
Sorry to be that person, but just wanna defend my namesake for a quick second here and point out that the meaning and origin you have for the name is really, truly, very incorrect.
Abrielle isn't just a shortened version of "Gabrielle", and it wasn't created by lopping off the G. Actually, the origin of "Abrielle" is disputed, but some say it's French, some say Italian, and others Hebrew. Each origin has its own unique meaning, and none of them are as sad as a "Gabrielle without its shirt". The supposed meanings include "God is my strength", sometimes associated with the French origin, "Mother/father of many" which is the feminine of Abraham and sometimes associated with Italian origin, but more often with Hebrew origin. Out of these three meanings and origins, I believe the French one is the most widely accepted one.
Please do just a bit more research before posting these names.
Thanks!
Oh and to anyone considering this name- I've heard nothing but good things about my name throughout my life. I've never heard anyone imply it's strange or "interesting". I love the name, and I think it's a better alternative to the very common "Abigail" or "Gabrielle".
THAT IS ALL
