Trendy names often include modern inventions, new-fangled word names, stylish revivals, briefly popular choices, alternative spellings, and sudden, fast rising options, but this one is, well, literally Trendy. Joining the ranks of declarative and descriptive names (think Unique, Chosen, Blessing), Trendy was selected by content creator Aubree Jones for her eldest daughter, Trendy Chanelle.

On the subject of the unusual name, Aubree Jones has explained she wants her children to stand out, and that Trendy was a name she'd loved before her internet fame, before meeting her husband even. She hopes it will inspire her daughter to start her own trends and do her own thing,

While Trendy has yet to enter the US stats, Jones's other children's names, Sunny, Zaylee, Truly, Journey, and Rocky, are all on-trend choices, in varying extents.

A feminine form of the poetic Heddwyn, this Welsh name combines the elements heddand gwyn to form a name that means "blessed peace". The masculine variant was notably used by the Welsh-language poet, Ellis Humphrey Evans, who picked it after being inspired by the way sunlight broke through the mist in the Welsh valleys where here lived.

Pronounced as HETH-win, the th sound being like that in thin, neither Heddwen or Heddwyn were used as given names until after the poet's death during the Battle of Passchendaele in World War I. This feminine form in particular remains rare.

Heddwen

Chosen by influencer Nara Smith for her daughter in 2025, Fawnie feels almost tame besides her siblings, Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, and Whimsy Lou. And while Fawnie may never have ranked in the US charts, source name Fawn made the Top 1000 back in the 1970s.

Pryde, a creative respelling of the English word Pride, may be viewed in two ways.
On one hand, it has the positive associations of being proud of yourself and of celebrating your own achievements, qualities, origins, and successes. Someone (or something) can also be a source of pride, and given that a child may be their parent's "pride and joy", it's likely that this meaning and the positive one above are what that those who've chosen the name had in mind when selecting it.

On the other hand, however, pride is linked to vanity, self-conceit, and feelings of superiority. It is associated with an excessive kind of self-love that turns to arrogance. As such, Pryde might be considered both a virtue and an anti-virtue name at the same time.

Other things this word name brings to mind are Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, a group of lions, and LGBTQ+ Pride, both the celebratory parades and the promotion of rights and equality.

More likely to appear as a surname, this word name was chosen in 2025 by actors KJ Smith and Skyh Black for their daughter Pryde JaNea.

While Pryde has never made the US stats, Pride has been given to around 90 boys since it first appeared in the data back in the 50s.

Marcelette

Noxli is an ultra-modern choice but with a hint of history borrowed from the Roman Nox and the feel of choices like Tesni and Mabli.

On one hand, it may be considered a spelling variation of Knoxley and Knoxlee, meaning "meadow by the round hill", however, it may also be seen as an elaboration of Nox, the Latin word for "night" and a Roman goddess, equivalent to the Greek Nyx. You could then interpret it as meaning "clearing at night" if you want to bring the '-lee' element into it too.

Noxli

As rare as Jocosa may be, it offers familiar nicknames like Jo, Josie, Coco, and Cosy, while also feeling similar to Jocasta, just without Oedipus associations.

Traditionally used as a masculine name and a surname, Winslow began to climb the charts for girls in the 2010s, likely due to its similarity to Willow and Harlowe, and because of the sweet nickname Winnie.
