Pansy is an early floral name that lost credibility when it became a derogatory slang term for gay people. Better these days: Posy or Poppy.

Pansey is a feminine name derived from the English word for the delicate garden flower. The name ultimately traces back to the French word 'pensée,' meaning 'thought' or 'remembrance,' as the pansy flower has long been associated with thoughtfulness and remembrance in folklore. This vintage nature name was more common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries but has since become quite rare. The spelling variant 'Pansey' with an 'e' is less common than 'Pansy.' Like other flower names, it evokes delicate beauty and connection to nature. Though uncommon today, it fits with the revival of vintage botanical names and might appeal to parents seeking a distinctive floral name with a touch of nostalgic charm.

Fourtney is an extremely rare masculine name with uncertain origins. It may be a creative variant of Fortney, which itself appears to be a surname-turned-first-name possibly derived from old French elements meaning 'strong' or 'brave.' The unusual spelling with 'Four' at the beginning creates an association with the number 4, which could be intentional. There is very little historical record of Fourtney as a given name, making it one of the more unique naming choices. Its rarity means it carries few established associations or stereotypes. The name has a distinctive sound that combines familiarity (through its similarity to surnames like Courtney or Fortney) with novelty through its uncommon spelling and structure.

Chatty is an uncommon feminine name that originated as a diminutive nickname before occasionally being used as a given name. Derived from the English word meaning 'talkative' or 'conversational,' Chatty has obvious associations with a sociable, expressive personality. As a legal given name, it remains extremely rare, with virtually no presence in naming records or popularity charts. The name has a light, cheerful quality with a distinctly informal feel, making it an unconventional choice for a formal birth certificate name. Parents who choose Chatty might be drawn to its positive connotations of friendliness and communication skills. While more commonly encountered as a nickname for Charlotte or other 'Ch-' names, Chatty as a standalone name represents a playful, distinctive choice that immediately conveys a warm, outgoing personality.

Pammy is a cheerful feminine name that originated as a diminutive form of Pamela, which comes from Greek elements meaning "all honey" or "all sweetness." Popular during the mid-20th century, Pammy has a warm, friendly quality that evokes the optimistic spirit of the 1950s and 60s. While often used as a nickname, Pammy has occasionally been given as a legal first name, offering a more casual, approachable alternative to the more formal Pamela. The name carries a certain nostalgic charm and unpretentious warmth. Though its popularity has declined since its peak, Pammy retains a sweet, affectionate quality that some parents appreciate. With its bright sound and easy pronunciation, Pammy creates an immediate sense of familiarity and friendliness. The name's vintage appeal may attract parents looking for something retro yet simple and cheerful.

Fortuny is a masculine name of Spanish origin, derived from the Latin 'fortunatus' meaning 'fortunate' or 'blessed.' It gained recognition through Mariano Fortuny, the renowned Spanish fashion and textile designer of the early 20th century. The name carries connotations of good luck, prosperity, and artistic flair. While uncommon as a first name, it has been used in Spanish and Catalan-speaking regions, particularly among families with artistic or cultural connections. Fortuny also exists as a surname, especially in the Catalonia region of Spain. The name combines a sense of creative heritage with positive associations of fortune and opportunity.

Fortny is an extremely rare masculine name with obscure origins. It may be a variant of Fortune, derived from the Latin 'fortuna' meaning luck or fate, or possibly a surname adapted for first name use. Another possibility is that it represents a unique spelling of forty (the number 40) or a creative modern invention. The name's unusual nature means it has no established usage pattern or cultural tradition. The scarcity of Fortny means that anyone bearing this name would likely be one of very few, giving it a distinctive quality. For parents seeking a truly uncommon name that isn't tied to specific trends or traditions, Fortny represents an option that stands apart from conventional naming patterns.

Paddy is generally a nickname for the male Patrick, and not one used very often any more due to its derogatory connotations. But plausibly this could be a short form for Patricia.

Paddy

Because it's a generic (and often derogatory) term for an Irishman, Paddy fell out of use as a diminutive or given name, though actress Mare Winningham used it not long ago.
