Xaia may be a modern invention, inspired by the likes of Maia, Kaia, and Gaia, or it could be a feminine form of Isaiah (or Izaiah) or Josiah, giving it a Biblical connection. Alternatively, it may link to the Burmese and Mongolian name, Zaya, giving it the meaning "fate, destiny" or to Xyla, linking it back to the Greek word for "wood" or "The Cross".
