This English word name brings to mind unearthed treasures from a bygone era — making it an odd but cool-sounding pick for a new baby. Relic could be a worthy pick for the child of an archeologist, museum curator, or an ancient history nerd. 10 baby boys received the name in a recent year.

Roby is a masculine name that functions as a diminutive or variant of Robert, which comes from Germanic elements meaning "fame" and "bright." This shorter, friendlier version maintains the approachable quality of Rob while adding the playful 'y' ending. Roby is used across several cultures, appearing in various European naming traditions including English, Italian, and Hungarian contexts, though with slightly different pronunciations. The name has maintained consistent but modest usage throughout the 20th and 21st centuries without becoming overly popular. Roby strikes a balance between familiarity and distinctiveness—recognizable enough to be easily pronounced but uncommon enough to stand out. The name carries a youthful, approachable quality that can transition easily into adulthood, making it versatile across different stages of life.

Romance may initially strike you as too ardent of a name for a baby, but given that Love has been a fast-rising name in recent years — not to mention soundalikes Roman and Romy — Romance is well-suited to our current naming climate. Presently, it makes the charts for baby boys but not baby girls.

Romance could also be considered a literary name, through its definition of "love story", along with its associations with medieval tales of chivalry and with the Romantic writers and poets of the 18th and 19th century.

Given to 9 boys in a recent year, parents in the future might be inspired by influencers Francesca Farago and Jesse Sullivan who used Romance as a middle name for their son in 2024, first name Locket.

Romance also appeared as a masculine option in the movie KPOP Demon Hunters, in which it is the performance name of one of the characters, Romance Saja.

Romance

Romar is a masculine name with several possible origins. It may be a combination of the elements 'Ro' and 'Mar,' potentially meaning 'famous sea' if derived from Germanic and Latin roots. In some cases, it could be an invented name combining elements of other names like Roman and Omar. Romar has been used in Spanish-speaking communities and has a strong, distinctive sound with its two clear syllables. The name carries a certain international quality, not being strongly associated with any single culture. While uncommon, Romar is straightforward to pronounce in multiple languages, giving it cross-cultural appeal. Its rarity makes it a distinctive choice for parents seeking a masculine name that sounds established yet isn't frequently encountered.

Ronak

Ronel is a versatile masculine name with multiple cultural origins. In Hebrew, it means 'song of God' or 'God's joy,' while in French it may be a diminutive of names like Aaron or Jerome. The name also appears in South African communities, sometimes as a combination of parental names or as a variation of Ronald. This cross-cultural appeal gives Ronel a global flexibility while remaining relatively uncommon in most regions. The name's compact structure and soft consonants create a sound that is both strong and approachable. Ronel has a contemporary feel despite its traditional roots, making it appealing to parents seeking a name that works internationally. Its rarity adds distinction while its simple pronunciation prevents practical complications.
