Rumani

Rumani can be an alternative spelling for the European county, Romania, or for the nomadic Romani people. It is the Hebrew variation for an area on the coast of Egypt, and it shares similar sounds and qualities to Indian names such as Ramana, Roomani, and Rukmini, to the Japanese name, Runami, and to the Bulgarian Rumiana and the Arabic name Rumaan.

Possibly influenced by the Indian actress, Roomani Khare, or by the character Rumani from the South Korean video game "Goddess of Victory: Nikke!", Rumani debuted in the US name data in 2023. Given to 88 girls, it was among the fastest rising names of the year.

Rumani is also given to boys.

Pronounced roo-MAHN-ee.

As of October 2026, Rumani ranked #7619 for boys in US births in 2024 and #1958 for girls in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #1814 for girls in 2024.
