Crisp and colorful, Autumn is the most popular season name in the US — the only one in the Top 100 in recent years — though Summer and Winter don't rank too far behind. Cool and gentle at the same time, it also ranks highly in England and Wales. 

One of those unusual names that's been popular for many years without ever feeling wildly overused, Autumn can be considered familiar without being too trendy. It ultimately comes from the Latin autumnus and is associated with harvest, changing leaves, and Halloween, along with the colors orange, red, gold, and yellow.
