Fayth is a feminine name that represents an alternative spelling of Faith, one of the virtue names that gained popularity particularly among Protestant families after the Reformation. Derived from the Old French 'feid' and Latin 'fides,' meaning trust or belief, Fayth carries the same spiritual connotations as its traditional counterpart. The 'y' spelling gives the name a distinctive, slightly more elaborate appearance while maintaining the identical pronunciation. This variant emerged during the late 20th and early 21st centuries when creative spellings became increasingly popular among parents. While less common than the standard Faith, Fayth appeals to those seeking a familiar virtue name with a unique twist, embodying qualities of spirituality, loyalty, and commitment.
