Names with Links to Mythology and Multimedia

A list of Names I have chosen for their meaning and possible character for stories I write.

Rooted in Greek mythology, Ares entered the US Top 1000 in 2013, when it was one of the year's fastest rising names. Similar in style to Atticus, Atlas, and Ari, it has continued to climb up the charts, and now ranks in the Top 500, given to around 770 babies each year .
In Greek mythology, Ares was the blood-thirsty god of war and son to Zeus and Hera. Now, it is used as a unisex name in Spain and the US, and is currently on the rise in the UK and France.

Percy is an adorable old name that is finally shedding its pampered Little Lord Fauntleroy image in this new era of boys with soft yet traditionally male names like Jasper and Elijah. Originating as an aristocratic Norman name, Percy became fairly widespread in England--and to some extent in the US--as an offshoot of the fame of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
Percy Bresnahan is a character in the Sinclair Lewis novel Main Street, and one of Thomas the Tank Engine's sidekicks is named Percy; Percy Ignatius Weasley is a Harry Potter character and Perseus "Percy" Jackson is the protagonist of the Heroes of Olympus series.
