I have a few favorite Welsh boy names, but not a lot; not sure why. Here goes!
- Emrys
Origin:
Welsh, variation of AmbroseMeaning:
"immortal"Description:
Magical and powerful, but gentle and approachable too, Emrys is a Welsh name which may be worth considering if you're looking for something less common that Dylan, Evan, or Morgan. An offbeat epithet of the wise wizard Merlin, it's currently in the Welsh top 100 and in the England and Wales Top 500 over all.
- Caradoc
Origin:
WelshMeaning:
"amiable, beloved"Description:
Derived from the name Caradog, the handsome ancient Celtic name was worn by one of the Knights of the Round Table, as well as a semi-legendary Welsh King. Possibly a cognate of Cedric and Carys, Caradoc is ultimately derived from the Brythonic name Caratācos meaning "loved", itself originating from the Celtic karu.
- Dai
Origin:
Welsh; JapaneseMeaning:
"beloved; great"Description:
A cross-cultural name that can be a nickname for David, as is common in Wales, pronounced "dye".
