Saffire

Saffire is a contemporary feminine name inspired by the precious gemstone sapphire, with an alternative spelling that emphasizes its connection to the English word 'sapphire.' The name evokes the deep blue color and precious quality of the gemstone, which has been valued throughout history for its beauty and rarity. This gem-inspired name gained modest popularity primarily in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, fitting with the trend of naming children after precious stones and natural elements. Saffire appeals to parents seeking names with positive associations of beauty, value, and uniqueness. The alternative spelling with 'f' instead of 'ph' gives it a more modern, streamlined appearance while maintaining the recognizable connection to the gemstone. The name carries connotations of rarity and preciousness.

Pronounced SAF-yr.
