Aasiya

Aasiya can be an alternative form of Asiya, who is seen as an exemplar woman in Islamic tradition for going against her husband in order to remain faithful to Allah. It is also the Somalian name for Asia. Used less often than Asiya, Asiyah and Aasiyah, it make work well for parents who also want to honor the continent.

Pronounced AH-see-ah.
