When my ex & I were expecting, we chose Kiersten because it was similar to a favorite story character of mine (Kirsti). We decided to spell it Kiersten to let people know how they were supposed to pronounce it..."tier" is "TEER," right? so "kier" should be "KEER," right? Ha ha. We got everything from Ker-stin to Kriss-tin to Krista. When my daughter was seven, she got tired of her soccer coach calling her Kristen, so she decided that she would go by Kit. She really liked the American Girl Kit at the time, & I figured she had all those letters in her name anyway. Now when people see her name on a list, they think she's a boy. ; )
