Ziora
Ziora Origin and Meaning
Familiar and stylish, yet intriguing, Ziora is a name with a number of possible meanings. On one hand, it might be a variation of the Arabic and Swahili Ziara which means "visit" or "visitation", however, other sources suggest it has its roots in Hebrew.
As such, it could mean "pebble" from the element tsur, or it could be a combination of or meaning "light" and ʿezer meaning "help", which could blend to mean "help is my (God's) light" or "(God's) light is my help". Alternative conjectures are that it is inspired by Zipporah ("bird") or Zohar "radiant".
There is the possibility however that Ziora is a modern creation, inspired by the likes of Liora ("my light", Zora ("dawn"), Ziomara ("famous in battle"), Izidora ("gift of Isis"), or similar.
