The name Synnøve is a girl's name meaning "sun gift".

The Norwegian form of Sunniva used to be very popular in its native country, making the Top 100 every year from 1945 to 1966. It shares Sunniva's beautiful, sunny meaning and has a lovely sound, although the Ø may confuse those who aren't familiar with it: it is said like the U in "burn".
