Maryori Origin and Meaning
The name Maryori is a girl's name of Spanish origin meaning "pearl".
Marjorie has been a rising choice in the US in recent years, thanks to its stylish grandma vibes. Now, the Latin American form Maryori is also gaining more attention, and in the latest count, it was given to 20 girls — a small number, but still four times the number that were given the name a year prior.
Spelled to reflect the Spanish pronunciation of the name, Maryori emerged via Medieval Margery and its alternative spelling Marjorie, itself inspired by the herb marjoram. Both names ultimately come from the classic Margaret, meaning "pearl". Other sources do suggest, however, that Maryori may also be considered a variation of Mary or Maria.
The name may also appear Máryori, Maryorie, and Maryory.
