Evara

Variation of Eva, Evaristo, or Ivara, Hebrew, Latin, Norse
"life; well-pleasing; yew wood, archer, warrior"

Evara Origin and Meaning

The name Evara is a girl's name meaning "life; well-pleasing; yew wood, archer, warrior".

Combining the sounds of several stylish choices such as Evelyn, Ever, Aria, Arabella, Elara, and Clara, Evara first entered the US stats in 2023 when it was given to six girls. By the following year, this number had increased fourfold, and it was given to 24 babies.

Evara has a number of possible origins, one being that it's a modern elaboration of Eve or Eva, inspired by the likes of Elara or Zara, giving it the meaning "life". However, it could also be a feminine (contracted) form of Evaristo meaning "well-pleasing" or a feminine variant of Ivar, meaning "yew wood" or "archer".

Model and influencer Tasmin Simón used the name in 2024, which may lead to more use of the name in the future. In her Instagram birth announcement, she listed the name as meaning "gift of god", possibly from the Sanskrit varah meaning "boon".
