Also written as Edmee, this name was popular in France in the first half of the 20th century. It's the feminine form of Edmé, itself a diminutive of Edmond, and it may appeal as an alternative to popular Esme or as an honor for an Edward, Edwin, or Edmond.

Edmée appears in the classic French novelCheri, by Colette, in which it is the name of the young women the titular character marries. In the 2009 movie of the book, Edmee is played by Felicity Jones.
