Zephyrine and Zephyr are unexpected favorites among Nameberry visitors, with the latter even entering the UK charts in recent years. Ultimately derived from Zephyros, the name given to the Greek god of the west wind, Ceferina is a Spanish variant which combines the appear of Zephyr with that of Seraphina and Cecelia.

Pronounced as theh-feh-REE-na in Spain and as seh-feh-REE-na in Latin America, it was a familiar choice in Spain during the first half of the 20th century. It has never made the US charts but masculine form Ceferino has.
