Mumin Origin and Meaning
The name Mumin is a boy's name meaning "believer".
Not to be confused with Tove Jansson's fictional Moomins, Mumin is a spiritual Arabic name, deriving from amuna, meaning "to be faithful". The term appears in the Quran to describe someone who is fully obedient to God's will and has their faith solidly established. Also spelled as Momin and Moumin, it is notably used in Indonesia, Somalia, and Bangladesh, and has been borne by Olympic runner, Mumin Gala.
