Victoria is the Latin word for "victory" and a feminine form of Victor. It is the name of the ancient Roman goddess of victory, the equivalent of the Greek Nike, and also a popular third century saint.
 
Victoria, the epitome of gentility and refinement, reflects the image of the long-reigning British queen. Queen Victoria, for whom the Victorian Era is named, ruled over England for over sixty-three years.
 
In the 1990s, Victoria managed to breach the Top 20, a surprisingly high standing for a name that is more of a classic than a fashion favorite these days. One enduring appeal of Victoria is that it's a traditional girls' name with a powerful meaning. 
 
One possible role model is proto-feminist Victoria Woodhull. Ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and Victoria's Secret have given the name a more modern edge, and it also has been a Twilight name.
 
Vicky (and Vicki, Vickie, and Vikki) and Tory (along with Tori) have traditionally been used as nicknames for Victoria. Vittoria is the pretty Italian version.

This distinguished name still feels a bit ancient, but with the rise of such former graybeards as Jeremiah and Elijah, it also sounds child-friendly again, as does the Latin-Greek form Zacharias. 
 Zachariah is a name that was in fairly regular use by the Puritans of the sixteenth century, then was eventually and completely overtaken by the more modern sounding Zachary. But strange as it may seem, Zachariah and Zacharias now seem more au courant than Zachary (even though that name remains more popular).
 In the Bible, spelled Zechariah, it is the name of about 30 different personages, one of whom gave his name to the book of Zechariah.
 Zarachiah Hobson is a character in the Thackeray novel, The Newcomes. 
 Zakkai, a Hebrew abbreviation of Zachariah, is another interesting option.

Zachary, a Top 20 name throughout the 90s, is now sliding down the rankings though it remains in the Top 200. With its ancient roots and modern feel, it's easy to understand why Zachary has been such a longtime winner. 
 
Zachary is the English variation of Zacharias, which itself is derived from the Hebrew name Zechariah. The name Zachary is attached to eight different people in the Bible, the most prominent being the father of John the Baptist, and it's also presidential, via 12th president Zachary Taylor. Zackery is an alternate spelling, and nicknames include Zack, Zach, Zac, and Zak.
 
Sir Elton John chose Zachary for his long-awaited first child, which may help propel it back into the spotlight. But contemporary parents might want to keep looking for more original alternatives. Variations such as Zachariah and Zacharias may have longer beards but at the same time feel fresher, while other Z names—from Zebedee to Zane—may suit parents whose main attraction is to the initial Z. 
 
Several of today's prominent Zacharys go by short forms—Zac Hanson, Zac Efron, Zach Galifianakis, Zach Braff and designer Zac Posen.

Zachary

Zaria, the name of the Nigerian capital city, could be another Z name for parents to consider. It currently ranks lower than variations Zariah and Zariyah.
 Popular 1990s sitcom The Parent 'Hood included a character by the name.

Zillennial Names

Zillennials are a micro-generation of people born between Millennials and Generation Z. It's a novel micro-generation that encompasses those who feel too old to relate to Gen Z, while also feeling too young to relate to Millennials regardless of how Pew Research Center categorized them as one or the other in respect to their birth year. This is because many of those cuspers have found Pew's generational markers to be rigid, as they either have nothing in common with the generation they are assigned to, or have struggled with fully aligning themselves with the traits, experiences and lifestyles associated with the generation Pew categorized them into, and instead, they identify as a mix of both generations (According to The New York Post).

There are two ways to describe this micro-generation, one which I have discovered myself with most of them being born during the Clinton Administration, were in between infancy to middle childhood during the events of 9/11, were in school during the Great Recession, and were adults in their early-to-late 20s when the recent pandemic struck. Another description defines Zillennials as growing up with 90s and 2000s influence (although most of them are defined as 2000s kids) throughout their childhood, and later came of age within the 2010s, with most of them graduating high school within Obama's second term as president.

They have also witnessed the digital transition of technology ranging from corded phones to cell phones, and eventually smartphones, to dial-up internet to high speed Wi-Fi as they grew up between the mid-to-late 1990s and the rest of the 2000s throughout their childhood. As a result, their childhood witnessed a mixture between analog and digital mediums growing up, with an example like watching VHS tapes on a television with a VCR to a Blu-Ray CD on a DVD Player, and lastly, streaming services.

There is currently no generally agreed upon birth year range for Zillennials, despite most news articles and popular media using birth years between 1992 and1995 as starting birth years and 1998 to 2000 as ending birth years. For the time being, I made this list using names that peaked between 1992-2000 as names that "define" this micro-generation. I do understand if this is not the right approach of names that are considered "Zillennial", much like how Matthew and Jessica are Millennial names, whereas Caleb and Madison are Gen Z names. However, for the time being, I will stick with peak names, but the name list will be subject to change if there is any feedback; which I will appreciate to further shape this list until it is more accurate to the micro-generation, as a Zillennial myself.
