New Babyberry Announcements for June

birth announcements June

By Linda Rosenkrantz

What a bountiful crop of beautifully named new babyberries this month!

First of all, one pair of girl-boy twins:

Holiday Kathryn and Hayes Nelsonalliterative but far from matchy-matchy.

The trend for nature-referenced middle names continues, with Fern, Iris, Bee, Rose, Snow, Fox (twice) and River all on board. A preponderance of vowel-starting names for girls, but only one—Oake—among the boys. And, as always lots of inventive and appealing first and middle name combos and sibsets. February—a short month, so not as quite as many great babyberry announcements as usual, but what they lack in number they make up for in their full share of originality and charm, including first names, first and middle combos and sibsets.

There was a wide variety in the babyberry choices of the past month, from classics like Arthur and Alfred and Louisa to the adventurous Sequoia, Arrow and Jubilee. The one repeated name this month is the lovely Cornish appellation Elowen—as in Elowen Claire and Elowen Pearl.

This surely must be a record–a bonaza of four pairs of twin babyberries in one month!  And, of course, all beautifully named. The three girl-boy pairs and one girl-girl are:

Larissa Orchid Celeste and Richard Henry Celio

Wesley James and Juliet Elise

Britton Adelaide Kenzli and Jackson Luke Zachariah

Ingrid Adele and Odette Frances

Lots of other interesting choices as well–a girl named Sinclaire, boys named Kiefer and O’Neill, middle names Reverie, Hawthorne and AxEl (sic). Also noted: boy names featuring the letter Z–Ezra, Ezekiel, Lazlo– and jewel names Ruby and Opal for girls.

At the risk of repeating myself, May was once again a fantastic month for babyberry naming, with yet another wide variety of creative choices. The girls included a poetic Poet and vintage revivals Elsie and Hetty, a boyish Wylie, novel nickname Livvy, and floral middles Blossom and Bluebell. Among the many cool sibsets are Magnolia and Moon; and Ivan, Vivienne and Evelyn (love those v’s!).  And so nice to see the prevalence of family homages.

There was one set of twins this month, the beautifully named boy-girl pair Casper William Carnegie and Ramona Elizabeth Islay, each with one particularly meaningful middle.
