Latest Babyberry Names Radiate Cozy Charm

Our newest birth announcements are here!

Twelve baby girls and twelve bouncing boys joined the Nameberry family in August and September, and their gorgeous names conjure up the perfect warm and fuzzy feeling for this time of year.

We especially love seeing underused vintage gems like Helen, Irene, Ernest and Leopold enjoying some well-deserved time in the spotlight.

Berry parents are the experts at adding a fun twist to traditional names. Among our newest arrivals are classic-meets-quirky pairings like Jacob River and Oliver Dove, as well as the truly one-of-a-kind combo name Kiralaine.

And an extra special congratulations to our wonderful moderator Haley, who welcomed her first baby Rhett last month after almost a decade as a Nameberry member!

Read on for all of the beautiful baby names announced on our forums over the past two months, as well as the stories behind them.

Girl Names

Kiralaine Eden Elizabeth Diane, sister for Marilise

“We wanted a three syllable name fit for a fantasy princess that also had some more familiar nickname options and used multiple family names in the middle. We ended up taking a shorter name from both our lists, Kira and Elaine, and combined them into a name we could agree on.”

Leona Irene

“Many have asked if Leona is a family name and its not. At first I was worried I’d given her an old lady name due to the prevalence of the question but realized it was only being asked because it’s vintage and unique.”

Maya Helen, twin of Jacob River

“I’ve been a Nameberry reader for 10+ years and am finally able to announce the birth of my own babies!”

Olive Josephine, sister to Juniper Kate

“Olive wasn’t even on our short list when she was born, but totally fits her perfectly.”

Piper Isobel, sister to Bridgette Rose

"Thanks for all the advice over our journey!"

Renae Margaret, sister to Natalie, Alyssa and Jenna

“We are so in love with her!”

Rosemary Frances, sister to Cora Beatrice

"We had been considering Olive and Frances, but neither one seemed to be sticking. I was afraid with Olive that she would be constantly confused with Olivia (top pick in the country we live in) and I wasn’t totally sold on the boyish nickname Frankie for Frances. My husband suggested Rosemary, which we had briefly considered for my first daughter's middle."

Boy Names

Aleksander Blaise Ernest Hugo, brother to Mariel, Corah and Nikolai

"Since he was born in September, I wanted a name that felt like autumn and Blaise reminds me of the beautiful fall colors and campfires in the crisp air. We love the history, Christian connection, and the stories of both St Blaise and Blaise Pascal, as well as Blaise in Arthurian legend."

Callum Arthur, brother to Ciaran Tadhg and Cormac Bear

“After trying out different names the first 24 hours that didn’t feel right, we finally decided on the perfect name.”

Jacob River, twin of Maya Helen

“Their names seem to be suiting them well so far!”

Oliver Dove, brother to Sarai, Phoebe, Josiah, Elias, Ayla and Shiloh

“He’s named after his grandpa and great grandpa. We usually stick to Biblical names but we wanted to pass on a family name. And both my husband and I thought the name Oliver is so cute.”

Rhett Mackenzie

“I’ve been a frequent poster on Nameberry for almost a decade and always dreamt of having my own little one to name, and now I’ve finally had a Babyberry of my own!”

Soren Leopold, brother to Ember Felicity and Mabel Coraline

"We waited to meet the little guy before naming him and after taking a day to get to know him we knew he was our Soren. It already fits him so well, we can’t wait to watch him really grow into it!"

Sullivan Garnier

“We also call him Sully. We really like strong male names that can turn into kind of cutesy nicknames. Garnier is his great-grandpa’s name. We decided if he was born on August 1 that he would have the middle name Garnier since it would be his great-grandpa’s 97th birthday! It seems like this unique name is the one he wanted.”

Our warmest congratulations to all of the proud new parents!
