Hmmm… interesting list. Most I wouldn’t use though, NMS. I like Elle though, loove Nell!
imperioustigerlily Says:
Awesome post! I really love Harry and Niall for boys and most of the girl names (Amelia, Audrina, Elle…) If Elle wasn’t the last syllable of my future last name, I’d use it in a heartbeat
VreeIsMe Says:
I love, love, love Logan and always have. Niall, pronounced “Nile” has been a favorite ever since I heard it, which was, yes, on Niall Horan. Elle is sweet too.

I know an 8-year-old Iker. It’s one of those names that just doesn’t translate- it sounds downright hideous when English-speakers say it, especially Americans, but it’s not bad in Spanish.

I love this list of names, they are just stunning. I look forward to meeting the new generation babies with these great names.
My favourites are Harry, Jensen and Amelia.
karateleshi80 Says:
Don’t forget Jensen as in Jensen Ackles in Supernatural. He carries that name well.
Audrina I like but I am not a really a fan of reality t.v. Mila and Milena are wonderful names. My nephew is called Harrison (Harry NM), love Elle. My friend has a daughter called Amelia (NM Milly).

I’ve always loved Niall, but when I first mentioned it a few years back here on nameberry, I was respinding informed that it should be pronounced Neil, or Neal, which I like not nearly as much.
Is the “Nile” pronunciation of the name Niall unusual?
Buttonhead101 Says:
Mila is so simple and pretty, but I think I like Milena better. And I’m also beginning to think Harry is really cute for a little boy, partly because of Harry Potter and partly because of Harry Styles. Not too crazy about Bristol. Ikir is just kind of weird. I’ve always love Amelia, mostly because of my hero Amelia Earhart. Kellen is a pretty cool name, and I do like Kellen Lutz but I don’t think I would use it. Audrina is very pretty, but I don’t I would use it. Jenson is pretty interesting and I love names from my heritage. Adele is really pretty, might have to use that one for a character in a story. Never really liked Logan, though I do like Wolverine. Elle is lovely and simple, and I quite like Elle Fanning. Lately I’m really loving the name (and the person) Niall! @moxielove yes it is pronounced Nile, I asked the question on a forum a few days ago and someone who lived in Ireland said it is usually pronounced that way.
P.S. Am I the only one who loves Niall’s picture?
skizzo Says:
Niall and Harry will not get a big push in the US, the one I can see getting a big rise is Zayn.
erin13 Says:
I love Niall. It was actually Niall Horan who I first heard the name on, but it’s a pity it’s so associated with One Direction now as a name, because if I ever used it people would probably just think it was because of them. I also like Mila and Elle for girls. Simple, feminine and pretty.

I really like both Mila and Elle but as nn’s not as proper names. I guess I’m going against the celeb trend with liking long names that have lots of nn options. (Not a fan of Adele but Adelaide has kind of grown on my over the years – could be a Guys and Dolls thing).
Gigi_mk Says:
Jensen was my number one choice for my son, but I let myself be talked out of it. My daughter malia sometimes gets called Mila as a nn.
mmljar1 Says:
Sorry but I don’t think that we can attribute these names to celebrity. The name Harry has been trending for ages and I would put down more to Harry Potter fans being old enough to have their own kids. Elle Fanning (who?) but the name Ella has been top 10 in Australia since 2005 and Elle has been following. Amelia has been heading up for ages and I think you could put it as part of a trend of ‘older’ names and also people who read the Amelia-Jane books as kids now having their own. Most of these are cases of celebrities with names that are trending up already rather than the other way around.
MorganaLeFaye Says:
I tend to agree with mmljar on this point, but I just thought I’d mention that McFly drummer Harry Judd winning Strictly Come Dancing last year won’t have hurt the name’s popularity. Gorgeous list, by the way

Just want to point out that Zayn Malik from 1d was actually born a Zain, but thought Zayn looked better

Although quite popular in the US, I really like Logan, Amelia, and Elle. I also really like Mila and Harry. There isn’t a name in the list that I dislike either. Great post
