Do you like the name Mechtilde?

An unusual name, similar to Matilda but sort of more romantic and clunky.

I envisage the nickname Tilly or Katy

Not a fan, sorry. I think it looks really clunky and unappealing. Matilda is much nicer.

I'm not sure I'd choose it but it has an interesting sound. Perhaps it could grow on me

I’m honestly not even sure how to pronounce it. MEK-tilde? MECH-tilde? Me-TEEL? Mech-TEEL?

    I wouldn’t go for it.

What about Matilde? It's a variant of Matilda used in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

I can't say I'm keen on Mechtilde. I'm not entirely sure how to say it without it sounding so clunky, heavy and harsh (MEKT-ild). I feel like if you had a strong German connection to the name, Mechthilde might make for a nice middle name, however, I just don't think it works so well as a first.

    I would greatly prefer Mathilda/Mathilde.

Not a big fan, reminds me of the word mechanic and feels a little clunky
