Can you use your favorite "didn't use" name on the next child???

We spent two months thinking our youngest would be Mae Mazarine nn Maisie before she was born, and then it just wasn't right. I have never been settled with her name Arden Mae (which is beautiful) and we call her Birdie Mae (which works for her).

I just found out this baby is a girl and can't even come up with a short list - I think I just love Mazarine. Would it be weird to use it this time? Has anyone used their almost used names for subsequent kids?

I don't think it's weird at all! I had a name that I was sure was The One, but then my daughter was born and it didn't suit her at all. I still adore the name, and if the baby I'm carrying is a girl, it will definitely be at the top of the list!

I think it would be a sweet story to tell her you were thinking of her even before her older sister was born, because you loved her name but knew her sister wasn't "her"! That would have made me feel super special when I was a kid.

We haven't actually used one yet, but many of our names end up on the next list
