    Isla as a nn for Isabelle?

    Could Isla work as a nickname for Isabelle?
    Not expecting, just collecting!

    Sure. If Jenna Bush Hagar can use Mila as a nn for Margaret, then why not?

    But I really see it as more of an Isa. Minus the L. But if you call her Isla, I think others will catch on. It's not that far off.

    Yeah, I think it works. I thought of it a while ago for Isabella, because you just take out the 'abel' and the name's Isla, but it works with Isabelle as well!

    I think Isla could work. Isabelle contains all of its letters. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want a nickname that is totally unrelated to the chosen name with a different origin and meaning but yeah, it does work.
