    Go big or go home?

We're thinking about names for our future daughter and we're worried that we're picking names that are too big to work. Our criteria are:
-preferably something that ends in the ah sound
    -historical but fresh
-we love starting with the letter Z
-lots of versatility in case she's a girlie girl or a tomboy
-something that goes well (but doesn't over match) with our daughter's name: Cecilia Josephine (she's named after her two lovely grandmothers)

With that in mind, my two leading contenders are Zenobia and Magnolia... both well rooted in the early 20th Century, match well with Cecilia (but not too well), and have great nicknames including "Z" "Zen", "Maggie" "Nola" or "Noli"... but these feel like really big names and when I try them on for size I get a little squirmy. Are they too much?!

I think Zenobia may be a bit too much, at least for me. I think Magnolia fits right in, though! Some other suggestions:

    Matilda
    Tabitha
    Patricia
    Rebecca
    Georgiana
    Fionnula
    Wilhelmina
    Fiona
    Seraphina
    Liliana
    Victoria
    Zara
    Frencesca
    Katerina
My girls: Grace Patricia "Gracie Pat" & Eloise Martha "Elsie Mae"
If we had a baby today: Moira Jane OR Desmond Walter
Guys: Julian, Amos, Tobias, August, Silas, Peter
Dolls: Iris, Marian, Hazel, Flora, Margo, Agnes

Seraphina and Francesca are on our list. Patricia and Liliana are out due to family members and Matilda and Rebecca are out due to friends... and Victoria is my name, so that's out too.

I like Zarah or Zara and maybe should add that to the list too! Thanks

    My first thought was Zora.

I do love Zora and appreciate the literary reference!
