Beacuse of this I dont have suggestions for you (sorry!) but I do have a question....how do you pronounce Dashiel? I so badly want to love this name, but when I say it outloud, I feel like I am trying to hard to say it - it just doesnt sound right. Maybe I'm pronouncing it wrong?
Have you ever seen The Incredibles? The little boy's name, Dash, is short for Dashiel, where I first heard the name, so I pronounce it like that. They only say it once or twice in the whole movie, no luck finding a youtube clip. :P

The Da is pronounced like in Dad, or at, this sort of flat long A sound (I don't know technical pronunciation things, bear with me here). The 'shiel' part is just like it's spelled, shield without the d. But the way I say it all together it sounds more like 'shell,' so a long E sound there.

Marek is an interesting one, I don't think I've heard it before.

I like Caradoc and Cagney, too.
I'm not feeling incredibly profound at the moment. Check back later.

I love Tolliver, Arlo, Atticus, Everest, and Winston.
I like simple yet versatile names that work well for the athlete, the comic, the genius, and the judge.

Marek is a form of Mark used in Polish, Czech, and Slovak. I love it and was hoping to swing my husband over to it, but unfortunately, he's not a fan. :'-( I'd love someone else to use it!
