Personally I would steer away from Ollie purely because it is so very popular right now. I know four Ollies (all Olivers) all 4 years old or under, just in my circle of friends and not counting other Ollies I have come across at preschool/swimming lessons etc.
The only other name that comes to mind that could be shortened is Tolliver.Fave names: Astrid, Anise, Annika, Cleo, Gabrielle, Holly, Marnie, Mardi, Miranda, Miriam, Poppy, Sydney
I'm from Australia, so when I'm referring to popularity I'm using Aussie lists.

Started my NaNoWriMo novel - Kith nor Kin -- read it here if you'd like and feel free to comment -- http://kithnorkin.wordpress.com/ Chapter 19 is up -- Warning! It's pretty gruesome.
