If it helps, I didn't think of it as a smush name. It reminded me of The Faerie Queene.

Goodie! I love The Faerie Queen, that's (obviously) where it's from.

    Sorry I'm really late!

    Belphoebe
    Ceridwen
    Hespera
    Illyria
    Niniane
    Tinuviel

Off this list, I really like Illyria the most. Ceridwen is also very pretty.

Windemere is my favorite name, but that is because I live in a place called Windemere, lol.

I couldn't use Columbine personally. There was a school shooting at a Columbine High school here in America.

It seems like Tinuviel is safe? So it's down to Niniane versus Belphoebe?

Why not try them out? See if the smush worry is actually a problem-- if anyone (relatively trusted versus strangers) asks you what you're considering, say 'Belphoebe" or "Niniane" and measure their reactions.

Yeah, that's a great idea. Thanks, Bladey. I don't know which one is safe... I have four months left (exactly! today!), so I know I'm not in a rush, I just want to sit on the names for a while, let them grow with me a bit before I meet my child.

uniquenamelover: I love Illyria too, it sounds so happy. I don't think I'll use Columbine, it's a very cute flower, but it symbolizes folly, I don't want that. And I know about that shooting, don't want that connection either. We have other ideas for middles...

    Thanks!!
