Short, sharp, and cool, Jett is a contemporary choice that connotes both gemstones and jet engines. Rarely used before the 90s, John Travolta, and then George Lucas, helped to put the name on the map by choosing it for their sons. 
 
Jett is a word name with a twist, a bit like Forrest or Merritt and that extra "T" moving it more firmly into name territory. It is associated with the highly, polished black gemstone and the color "jet black", meaning it fits in with the likes of Jasper, Onyx, Scarlett, and Jade. It is also associated with jet engines, jet planes, and speed and it was this connection that likely drew aviation enthusiast Travolta to the name - though it could work for someone wanting to honor their love for travel too.

Queen Elizabeth's childhood nickname was Lilibet, the name of Prince Harry and Meghan's newborn daughter, and Lilibeth has the same kind of lilting charm. Natalie—a Franco-Russian name—became Americanized years ago and is one of those surprising names that's always ranked among the girls' Top 1000 names in the US.
 An Old Lady Name in the 1950s, Natalie reversed course and has been more popular than ever in this century, though it's fallen off a bit from its peak in 2008.
 Natalie is the French variation of Natalia, a name originally derived from the Latin phrase natale domini, meaning "birthday of the Lord." It was historically given to girls born around Christmas for this reason. 
 Natalie was Cameron Diaz's character in Charlie's Angels, and was attached to first Natalie Wood, then Natalie Cole (named for her father), and now Natalie Portman. 
 Along with Cole, Natalie has other musical ties to singers—Maines, Imbruglia and Merchant -- and to a not too flattering hit song by Bruno Mars. Natalie has been a TV regular ranging from the lovable character on the old The Facts of Life, to Monk to Orange is the New Black.

Nola is also a place name of an Italian town, associated by ecclesiastical tradition with the invention of church bells, leading some to give that as the meaning of the name. 
 Speaking of the map, Nola could also come from New Orleans, Louisiana, for which NOLA is a frequent acronym. This association lends the name a potentially Southern feel.
