    Middle Name Help

Ok! I have hit a snag in trying to name our baby. My husband does not know the sex of the baby(a girl obviously) but now knows that I know. So discussing possible names with him is out of the question. Before I accidently found out the sex we had narrowed our options down to a few. We are going for a not terribly popular name and something a bit unique. Any suggestions beyond this list are MORE than welcome. Here is my list so far:

    Lilyann Athena
    Lilyann Aloura
    Lilyann Aurora
    Lilyann Rose
    Lilyann Lee

Lilyann Athena - I don't mind this one, not my favorite though
Lilyann Aloura - This one's my FAVORITE...the flow is gorgeous
Lilyann Aurora - Aurora was my favorite name growing up
Lilyann Rose - while I love the name Rose, it just feels tired as a middle name
Lilyann Lee - cute! forms possible nn Leelee

    Here's a few more:
    Lilyann Mauve
    Lilyann Everly
    Lilyann Frost
    Lilyann Lane
    Lilyann Odele
    Lilyann Twila
    Lilyann Aster (instead of Rose)
    Lilyann Delphine (instead of Rose)
Lilyann Padget (pronounced like Paige...Lilyann is English and Padget is the English form of Paige...although Paige works just as well)

    Re: Middle Name Help

Hi there! :-) Lily is a lovely name, and Anne is gorgeous, too. That said, for me, Lilyann sadly looks like an invented name, while Lillian is beautiful. Lillian is, however, ranked #33, which is very, very popular. Spelling the name differently doesn't make it sound different than Lillian, so you may want to consider this.

Liliana would be a great alternative.

Lilyann Athena: I do like Athena, but not with Lillian...

Lilyann Aloura: Lillian Aloura is gorgeous!

Lilyann Aurora: Lillian Aurora is fabulous!

Lilyann Rose: Rose is my favorite name, but it's overused as a middle, and makes the name too flowery.

Lilyann Lee: Not a fan of Lillian Lee...Lee is unisex and dated, while Lillian is very feminine and

Of your choices, I pick Lillian Aloura. :-) Great name!

    Other middles:

    Lillian Allegra
    Lillian Aurelia
    Lillian Amabel
    Lillian Beatrix
    Lillian Clementine
    Lillian Cordelia
Lillian Delphine (Still a flower name, but perhaps less obviously so than Rose?)
    Lillian Daphne
    Lillian Eliza
    Lillian Esme
    Lillian Francesca
    Lillian Genevieve
    Lillian Hollis
    Lillian Juliet
    Lillian Josephine
    Lillian Louise
    Lillian Mirabel
    Lillian Marielle
    Lillian Ophelia
    Lillian Pearl
    Lillian Ruby
    Lillian Simone
    Lillian Scarlett

Most of the above sound great with Liliana, too. :-)

Some other random ideas for first names:
    Arabella
    Aurelia
    Araminta
    Aurora
    Beatrix
    Clementine
    Cordelia/Cora
    Delphine
    Daphne
    Esme
    Eliana
    Elodie
    Eloise
    Francesca
    Gemma (jem-ma)
    Georgiana

    Katya
    Louisa
    Luella
    Laurel

    Mirabelle
    Marielle
    Phoebe
    Rosalind
    Rosalie

    Re: Middle Name Help

Lillian Cordelia was my grandmother's name. I love it.
I agree that Lillian is a better choice than Lillyann. Lillian looks more serious. The nicknames Lily and Lillie help it to lighten up a lot!
    Also love:
    Lillian Blythe
    Lillian Flora
    Lillian Claudine
    Lillian Francine
    Lillian Delphine
    Lillian Maud
Lillian Grace, yes Grace is a really popular name, but it's gorgeous with Lillian.
    Lillian Elspeth

My favorite is Lillian Francine. Adorable! Makes me think of a gorgeous little French black suede purse from the 40's that's more vertical than horizontal. Of course Lillian Maud is amazing, too.

agree - Lillian over Lillyann, and that Lillian Alora is lovely, though I really like Liliana as well. That wound need a non-A middle like Blythe... good luck!

I vote for either Lillyann Aloura or Lillyann Aurora. Both are so beautiful and elegant.

I would pronounce Lillyann differently from Lillian.
To me, Lillyann would be lily-ANN
    while Lillian is LILL-ian

Anyways, personally I would rule out Rose to avoid two floral names. I would rule out Lee because it just doesn't add much and is phonetically repetitive. I'm also partial to Lee on a boy.
I like Athena if you want to add some oomph and Aurora if you want ultra frilly.
