    suggestions, please!

I am due with a baby girl in a few weeks. Here are some names we like, but we are open to suggestions of new names...and would like to expand our thinking to other similar names. I seem to like classic, with a small twist...and I am drawn to names that include a long vowel...but I am definitely not limited to those names...

    First names:
    Delaney
    Evie (I say eh-vee...would others say ee-vee)
Ava (I know it's popular, so help me with something similar--short, pretty, classy)
    Laine

Middle names (We want it to be a variation of one of these family names):
    Lee--we like Lia, Ashlee, others???
Carol--we like Cara, Carington, (can't use Caroline), Carolyn, others???
    Mary--variations??
Elaine--Laine (if not used for a first name)

    Thanks for your help!!

    Re: suggestions, please!

    First names:
Delaney- I'm not a particular fan of this one. I do like Dela (possibly a nickname for Adela), Lucia, and Helena (Heh-LAY-nuh).
Evie- This seems a bit short and nicknamey. I would only use this as something to call an Evelyn, otherwise I would leave it to rest.
Ava- Yes, I agree this is too popular. I have some suggestions and variations at the bottom of the post that I think you would like.
Laine- Sounds like "lane." It doesn't quite cut it as a name on it's own, for me.

Middle names (We want it to be a variation of one of these family names):
Lee-- Lia is cute (My friend Claudia calls herself "Lia," which is a bit of a stretch from her real name, but it suits her). How about Leana, Leonore, Leah, Leatrice, Leeba (It's Yiddish), Leocadia, Leona, Leontine/Leontina, Leolani, Leora, Leosia, Levia?
Carol-- Cara seems to fit your tastes, and she's cool. How about Carola, or something with the same meaning? Charlotte (nn Charlie, Lottie?), Carina, Carlotta, Charlene, Harata, Hiari, Libera/Librada, Sarolta, Siarl. Anything pop out? I don't like Carington, it's very surnamey and not very feminine. :\
Mary-- Oooh, plenty of variations on Mary! Here we go: Maria, Miriam (nn Miri?), Marion, Maia, Mairin, Manon, Mara, Mariah, Marian, Marie, Maricela, Mariel, Marieke, Marilou, Marilyn, Maris, Maro, Masha, Maureen, Milou, Moira
Elaine-- I like the full Helene or Helena (Heh-LAY-nuh), it seems to have more substance and character than Elaine or Elaina. Other variations are Eleanor/Elinor/Eleanora/Eleonore, and with all of them I think you could use the nickname "Ellie."

It seems like you like the shorter, sweeter names. Here are some further suggestions:

    Phoebe
    Fae
    Aubrey/Audrey
    Jena
    Deja
    Amelia
    Lyla
    Ada
    Gia
    Eve
    Ainsley
    Dena
    Meta
    Avery
    Anya
    Pia
    Kira
    Aurora
    Elle
    Lydia
    Leda
    Kaia
    Cleo
    Iola
    Neva
    Leta

    Happy naming! :]

Evie is a lovely choice, it is very popular in England but hasn't seems to have the cross over to North America quite yet. It is on my shortlist for whenever i have another baby.

    Other names i love:
    Daisy
    Joely
    Rory
