what do you think of my list or can you suggest some others

Hi all
we are expecting #2 and have a lovely son Hugo. We love his name and its meaning and would love a name to compliment his name and its style i guess.

so far list for boys is : Julius, Rafael/Raphael, Oscar, Sebastian got to love my DH he rather likes Ulysses and I rather like Rupert or Theodore but don't like Theo prefer Ted, hmmn.

for girls Ivy (with middle name Sophia, Estelle or Charlotte) Audrey or Lila or Sophia

Oooh, Annetta, I like your style! Hugo is such a handsome name, as are Julius and Raphael, both favorites of mine. Oscar is, I think, becoming popular amongst celebrities, which means it's just a matter of time before it filters down. Sebastian is a bit fussy for my tastes. Rupert-- love Rupert, LOVE IT. Ulysses is brave, very brave. :)

Your girls' names could be right off my list, particularly Estelle and Lila. I'd be wary of Audrey and Sophia-- they're quite popular. From your lists, my favorite combos would be:

Hugo and Lila

Ivy Estelle
Ivy Sophia
Rupert Ulysses
Rupert Julius
Raphael Ulysses

I love Hugo and Rafael together. I also like Theodore, but if you're worried about Theo as a nn, maybe Thaddeus would work?

For girls, I think Hugo and Sophia or Hugo and Lila are really nice together. I think Hugo would also go nicely with Eloise or Beatrix.

Hugo is a fantastic name, by the way. Couldn't talk my husband into it :(

For a boy, I like Julius best. It's one of my favourite names, and I think it complements Hugo very well. Oscar is also very nice but like someone said, is becoming rather popular. I love your idea of Rupert. Theodore is also very nice, but might overpower Hugo a bit.

For girls, I don't adore Ivy, but I love it with your choices of middle names. Audrey and Sophia are much more popular than Hugo. Lila or Ivy would be a better choice, in my opinion. What about Estelle or Charlotte as a first name? I quite like Estelle Ivy or Charlotte Ivy, and I think they both go great with Hugo. I really like your taste!

I LOVE the name Hugo, Annetta, and like so many of your choices, too!

Julius: For me, Julius is too close to Julia, but it does sound very nice with Hugo.

Rafael/Raphael: Raphael is too feminine for me, probably because I know a little Raphaela.

Oscar: Oscar sounds great with Hugo!

Sebastian: Another fantastic choice!

Ulysses: I'm not a fan of Ulysses, but wouldn't mind it as a middle name.

Rupert: Another one of those middle name names for me...

Theodore: I really like this with Hugo, but if the "Theo" aspect bothers you, you can most definitely use Ted or Teddy. What about Thaddeus?

for girls Ivy (with middle name Sophia, Estelle or Charlotte): A great name... My neighbor just had a little girl named Ivy Celeste. Of your choices, I like Ivy Estelle and Ivy Sophia. (Ivy Charlotte sounds too clipped.)

Audrey: A lovely name, but it's getting really popular... I love Audrey with all of your middle name choices, but Audrey Sophia is probably my favorite, with Audrey Charlotte coming in second.

Lila: I LOVE Lila, and prefer it with with Charlotte or Sophia.

Sophia: One of my favorites, but it's so, so popular. For me, I'd keep it as a middle name.
