Thread: Elle & Elise

    Elle & Elise

My daughter's name is Elle and she is 4yrs old. I really like the name Elise for our new baby but I'm not sure if they are too close in sounds.

Sorry, but I would say they are too close. Congrats on the new baby btw!

Elle is beautiful. Sorry, but I feel they are too close. Elise could potentially be shortened as a nickname to Elle. There are so many gorgeous names out there that I am sure you will find one you love. Good luck.

Unfortunately I agree with the above posters that yes Elise is too close to Elle. What about Louise, Tessa, Lydia, Sophie, Ebony?

For me, they are too similar.
    Louise was a good suggestion!

    What about...

    Eliza
    Lucy
    Beatrice

They are pretty close close, what if you didn’t Elle and Lise (the latter pronounced the same as Elise but without the first E)

I pronounce Elise like uh-LEES, so when said out loud, I don't think they're too similar, but when written, they are.

I know an Alaine, so you could change the spelling to Alise? Or what about Alisa? Alicia? Maybe Annelise (it has Elise in it!)?

    Seconding the suggestion of Louise!
