    August “Gus” Edward

I would like to find another boy’s name to add to my list for a future child. My list currently includes August Edward for a boy and Martha Juniper for a girl.

The name August Edward has a personal meaning to me which is a very important factor in the names I love. Both August and Edward are tied to my brother’s name. I really love Gus as a nickname.

Here are some boy names that I like that have some meaning:

Henry- I had a very close neighbor that I adored as a child named Heinrich who went by Henie. Henry is a variant of that name. I am open to other Henry variations. I like Hank as a possible nn.

Samuel- A family name. I’m not a big fan of nn Sam though.

Theodore- A family name. I like Theo or Teddy as nicknames

Oliver- My grandpas favorite tractor brand. Too popular for me.

Asa- A family name. I think he could go by Ace.

Jacob- A very close friend’s name

Charles- a family name. Like the nn Charlie

Frederick- Was the name picked out for me if I would have been a a boy. My nickname to my family is Fritz. Not sure I like any of the nicknames for Frederick besides Freddie.

If you can think of any other variations or names that match my style, I’d love to hear them.

    Thank you!

    August Edward is lovely

Henry -i love Henry! Such a great name.

Samuel -quite nice! Henry Samuel would be nice!

Theodore -love this! Theodore Samuel would be great! Or Theodore Henry

Oliver - nice enough but very popular.

Asa -Asa is great, quirky and cool

Jacob -quite nice, not too over used

    Charles - classic and versatile

Frederick is brilliant! Freddie is nice too, though i like Fox for Frederick too

    Some ideas

Henrick, Henderson, Harrison -inspired by Henry! They could all be nn Hank or maybe Rickie, Ender, Sonny, Harry or Harris

    Saul -inspired by Samuel

    Samson 'Sonny' inspired by Samuel

Ismail - a variant of Samuel

Solomon -a kind of nod to Samuel but i think it could fit your style too, even as a middle. Sol, Sonny as nn -or even Ollie, as a nod to Oliver

    Thaddeus 'Teddy' inspired by Theodore

Olivier - an alternative to Oliver

Orson -'Bear' 'Teddy' -means bear cub

Ezra -has a similar meaning and sound to Asa

Judah 'Jude' - Asa was the third king of Judah

Asher - similar vibe to Asa

Caleb -kind of like a mash up of Jacob and Charles - could have the nn Cal

Jameson -James has the same meabing as Jacob

    Elijah 'Eli'

    Abel 'Abe'

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I am really loving Solomon right now. It’s a peaceful but also strong name. I think it could work as a middle name for me as well because it’s a character in Charles Dickens books but I’m also loving it for a first name with the multiple of nicknames it has!

I like Ted and Teddy for Theodore and for Edward which are both family names.

For some reason, I never knew that Jacob and James had the same meaning. James seems to flow better rather than Jacob.
