Can’t agree on Anything. Need fresh ideas!

We cannot agree on any boys names!!

He likes ancient obscure names like Tyriel, Titon, Aelius, Titus, Cyrus, etc...

He wants an obscure name with a powerful meaning or story behind it.

I like names like Felix, Finn, Sebastian, Oliver. He doesn’t like any of them.

We did agree on Atticus, but he backed out because it lacked a powerful meaning.

We now have Zero boy names.

I tried to get him on board with Phoenix, but I don’t think he’s going to go for it.

    Need fresh ideas!

Maybe ypu should find something between? Most of the modern names have ancient origin. Like Theodoros (he can go by Theo or even Theodor).
Names that I love just now:
Anna, Susannah, Catherina, Marianna, Kimberly, Pamela, Josephine, Megan, Estrella, Rebecca
David, William, Theodore, Maxwell, Andreas, Blake, Alexander, Gregory, Everett, Owen

Literature mum to Angela "Annie" Everlyn Tiny, Tobias "Tobby" Roderick Underwood, Francis "Frank" Everett Bridges, Lilibeth "Lilie" Maria Joy and many others

Similar to my boyfriend and I, although the other way around, I like the out there names and he's quite traditional. Also, a girl name issue and not a boy one! We spent ages making our own lists and sharing them, crossing of ones that were a complete no-go and leaving ones we thought were ok just to find some middle ground. We eventually found a middle ground and have compiled a short list. So there is definitely hope and you will find a perfect name!

I love Atticus, so it's a shame that doesn't work for him. Maybe a name with an obvious simple nickname might work well for you, something like Caius/Kaius and you can call him Kai? Evander could become Evan or Van etc.

I don't think you could get any strong than the name Atlas? It's recognisable, easy to spell, similar sounds to Atticus and has a very strong meaning.

    How about...
    Orion
    Calix
    Augustin
    Galen
    Ignatious
    Jonas
    Luther
    Lysander
    Leander
    Leonidas
    Matthias
    Osias
    Xander
    Zephyr
    Boys

    Xavier Isaac James
    Ezekiel Asher Beau
    River Elias Gabriel
    Octavian Noah Caleb
    Atticus Theodore Jude

    Girls

    Pandora Elowen Frances
    Persephone Matilda Alice
    Seraphina Imogen Violet
    Octavia Felicity Eden
    Zendaya Iris Winter

I feel like you can definitely find some middle ground between these! Dorian and Lucian/Lucius above were excellent suggestions.

    Duncan "dark warrior"
    Aldrich "wise ruler"
    Tyson "firebrand"
    Evander "bow warrior, strong man"
    Thaddeus "divine gift"
    Louis/Aloysius "renowned/famous warrior"
    Oran "light"
    Ignatius "fiery"
    Alphonse "noble, ready for battle"
    Leander "lion-man"
    Faustus "fortunate one"
    Conrad "brave counsel"
Rafferty "abundance, prosperity," can also mean "floodtide"
    Constantine "steadfast"
    Heron "hero"
    Augustus "great, magnificent"
    Conan "little wolf"
    Radcliff "red cliff"
    Casper/Gaspar/Gaspard "treasurer/keeper of the treasure"
    Justus "just"
    Vincent "conquering"

I agree with this! Or go in the other direction. I've always thought Thor was a pretty cool nickname for Theodore

This is totally doable, there are crossovers here ...
Aeneas - the praised one ... This is similar to Atticus but also very dissimilar, it has many of the same things appearance wise as you both like but it's also very comfortable as a name

Barnabas - son of consolation - this has been getting some love on nameberry but is still ancient ... It's just been getting enough use it could be the next atticus

Erasmus- it's a little dusty but means beloved / desired. I could see it coming back around.

Everhart - hearty, which is a good quality to have... I think names like this meet in the middle very well...
    Psalm 127:3-5

This is too funny because my husband and I are in the same boat - but I'm the one who likes ancient Roman and unique names, and he likes more traditional.

My favorite for a long time has been Ulysses, and he recently vetoed that. We compromised on Atlas. His favorite is Dorian but I don't care for it very much, and we also discussed Lucian but like Atlas better.

What about Apollo? It's getting pretty popular, it's very recognizable, trendy -o ending, and it's ancient with a lot of meaning.

    Mars
    Zephyr
    Ezra
    Jules/Julius

Pretty much everything else I would suggest has already been listed!
    Auriel Rene Rose
    Utopia Xanadu ('04) | Tiberius Apollo ('09)
    Due Nov 2019: Ulysses Cain

Veridian Elora Luna // Aristeia Éowyn Skye
    Astraea. Andromeda. Illyria. Artemis.
Adora. Daenerys. Ilia. Nymeria. Nemea. Lyra. Theta. Phaedra. Zephyr.

    Rubeus Escher Eridani
    Atlas. Atreides. Aurelius. Valen.
Caladan. Cousteau. Calisto. Ignatius. Octavian. Zephyr. Marius. Lucian.
