    Suggestions with Scholastica

Hey y'all I've been considering starting a name advice blog (that is not going to be called the title of this post hehe) or something of that sort but even though I really enjoy it, I'm not sure I could handle running the whole thing so I thought I'd give it a try on here.

So if you have any opinions or help with any names, combos, sibsets, signatures or anything else, send them my way and I'll do my best to help! And if you'd rather do it privately my messages are always open

Lovely idea and thank you for offering to do this!

I've been feeling a bit lost on names recently and currently i only have four i really love:

Sarai Matilda, Una Adele, Sholto Felix and Ezra Apollo

I do have a huge list of ones I'm considering adding here:
So my question is, if you had to pick 10 names for girls and boys from the list to keep, which would you choose?

Feel free to skip over this if it's too long
    Grace
    Sarai Matilda|Cherith Eliza|Sholto Felix|Tristan Rafferty
    Una Adele|Mabli Charlotte|Percy Evander|Otto Elias
    Cleo Tallulah|Lois Aurelia|Jesse Peregrine|Bram Atticus
    Maeve Emily|Sloane Felicity|Linus Theodore|Jude Amadeus

Ooh this is a great idea for you, Kizzy!!

I've been playing with a "realistic" list, so it's back to my England inspired style (back to my roots, I guess? LOL). Of these diminutives on my list, which do you think would make the best standalone first names?

I'll condense the list a little as it's quite long - Bea, Betty, Betsy, Billie, Blossom, Coco, Daisie, Dolcie, Dolly, Dottie, Edie, Effie, Elsie, Emmie, Evie, Florrie, Frankie, Georgie, Hattie, Honey, Kitty, Libby, Lulu, Mollie, Marcie, Minnie, Millie, Nancy, Nellie, Ottilie, Peggy, Penny, Perrie, Pixie, Polly, Poppie, Posy, Roxie, Sally, Susie, Tilly, Trixie.

    Thank you!

    @greyblue:

sO with Sarai Matilda, Una Adele, I would pick

    Cleo Amalia
    Elodie Seren
    Romilly Charlotte
    Lola Anouk
    Indie Florence
    Emmeline Heidi
    Saskia Mabel
    Tallulah Ocean
    Penelope Maeve
    Stella Beatrix

Or more specifically (with random middle suggestions)
    Cleo Penelope
    Elodie (maybe nn Lola?) Maeve
    Romilly Piper
    Emmeline Juno
    Saskia Glow

I picked these ones because they have a sleek femininity about them, both luxurious and yet down to earth and not super frilly. I also feel like Ilaria could work but with a less image based middle, Ilaria Edith, Charlotte or Scout would cut the very princessy feel and make it match better with the sibling set.

With Sholto Felix and Ezra Apollo

    Tristan Rafferty
    August Wilder
    Lorcan Beau
    Caspian Felix
    Jude Rafferty
    Rory Sebastian
    Otto Hawthorn
    Hugo Fox
    Linus Theodore
    Callum Tadgh

    Tristan Rafferty
    Jude Sebastian
    Rory Hawthorne
    Linus Evander (or maybe Beaufort?)
    Caspian Tadgh

These to me have a very specific “everyday prince” feel, something that’s simultaneously playful and dignified. I’m not sure how you feel about Dashiell, but I think it suits your boys list better than Dash itself, I’d do Dashiell August.

    @leafsgirl44

    Hey Haley!

So of the names I think Bea, Betty, Billie, Coco, Daisie, Dottie, Edie, Effie, Elsie, Emmie, Evie, Florrie, Frankie, Georgie, Hattie, Libby, Mollie, Marcie, Minnie, Millie, Nancy, Nellie, Ottilie, Peggy, Penny, Perrie, Polly, Poppie, Posy, Roxie, Sally, Susie, Tilly are all usable but I think the best ones are:

Bea, Coco, Edie, Frankie, Libby, Millie, Ottilie, Perrie, Posy and Tilly

These all feel familiar but not as overdone as some of the others (such as Emmie, a personal loVe), others it’s more the spelling of them that makes me hesitate to have as standalone firsts.

Evie and Georgie are the other two I think really work, they are more common but I think they’re fantastic firsts.

Thank you so much, Kizzy! This has been very helpful!!
Luxurious, but down to earth and without frills a great way to describe what I'm trying to achieve with my girls names!
I'm really enjoying your suggestions of Cleo Penelope, Elodie Maeve, Emmeline Juno (or Juno Emmeline!) and Saskia Glow!
I'm liking Ilaria Edith too - i have been trying to think of a new middle for Ilaria. Ilaria Margot is one I've thrown around but I'm not sure

Everyday prince is a fantastic descriptor too and I've been liking Dashiell recently so its definitely one I'd consider! Dashiell August is lovely!
Jude Sebastian and Caspian Tadhg are great too!

    Thanks so much

@greyblue: Ilaria Margot has the right balance of styles but I think the repeated -ar sound which is quite strong might be what makes it not quite perfect. Maybe:

    Ilaria Joy
    Ilaria Frances
    Ilaria Mabel
    Ilaria Beatrice
    Ilaria Piper
    Ilaria Sage
    Ilaria Malou

This is such a great idea!

I've been stuck with boy names lately and I'm trying to come up with a new combo. Some names I've been thinking about are Orson, Oscar, Henry and Linden. I'd appreciate if you could suggest some more names that would fit in my signature, and (if you have time and it wouldn't be too much of a hassle!) come up with some combos too.

    Thanks in advance!

Margot Phillipa Nell ❀ Elodie Harriet Grey
    ❀ Eliza Lavender Lily
Adeline Vienna Pearl ❀ Viola Beatrix Alice
    Geneva Rosamund Poppy

August Theodore Leslie ☾ Casper Edmund Jem
    Bruno Christopher Sherlock
Leon Sebastian Fox ☾ Oscar Dorian Louis

I'm loving Kai as a hypothetical brother to my little Owen Shepherd, but nothing really stacks up as a middle name.

Kai Benjamin is my favourite, but Benjamin is just a regular name, ya know?

Kai Emerson is what my husband prefers, but I'd rather something more decidedly masculine (I've had female students: Emmersyn) And while that's not a big deal in the middle, I'm still looking for something awesome like Shepherd.
    Mumma to Owen Shepherd

Hazel Adeline + Nora Eve + Mae Evelyn + Eliza Audrey + Iris Eleanor

Theo Archer + Jonah Matthew + Kai Benjamin + Flynn Grayson

Y'all this is so much fun

    @gia.berry:

With your other boys, Henry and Oscar fit best imo, but both Linden and Orson are lovely.

I think something that is missing that you could find is a Leo- name. I feel like they fit well with the gravitas of Edmund but also tie into the classic modern feel of August, like a bridging name. Maybe:

    Leon
Elliot (I really like this with your set and it's something a little more unexpected)
    Lionel
Leopold (I feel this may be more middle territory though)
    or even just Leo

    Other thoughts:
    Orson Matteo Quill
    Oscar Theodore Fable
    Linden Aurelius Finn
    Henry Ignatius Rose
    Linus Frederick Ocean
    Felix Atticus
    Jasper Bartholomew
Walter Gabriel (or for some fun, Castiel)
    Cormac Elijah
    Malcolm Rowan
    Bennett Lucian
    Elliot Dashiell

    @grackym:

I adore Kai with Owen! I get what you mean about Benjamin being just a name, it's missing the wow factor. I think the running theme I see with your signature is this sort of gentle masculinity, something unquestionably male but not in a bull fighter, machismo way.

    So some suggestions:
Kai Everett: a little similar to Emmett, I think it has a naturey feel and a gentle strength that complements the spunk and flow of Kai.
    Kai Matthias
    Kai Benedict
    Kai Phineas
    Kai Maxon
    Kai Fabian
    Kai Alexander/Alessio
    Kai Oliver
    Kai Stelios
    Kai Phoenix

I'm not sure if Shepherd has a biblical connection but in case it does:
    Kai Balthasar
    Kai Barnabas
    Kai Abraham
    Kai Immanuel
    Kai Solomon
    Kai Thaddeus
    Kai Arrow

Thank you so much, I'm really looking forward to hearing what you have to say! We are choosing a name for Thalia's little sister. Here is our short list (at the moment):

Althea (I love the meaning, but husband would rather choose Athena)
    Aster
    Esther
    Athena (honor name)
Aviva (I love the bouncy feel of this)
    Helene (honor name)
    Irene
    Iris
    Mariel
    Sylvia (love the forest meaning)

I love these, but my husband isn't a fan
    Simone
    Delphine

I love Cosima too, in sound and meaning, but it doesn't fit with the last name.

Constance is a potential honor name, but I'm not in love with it.

    Thanks again!
    Love my Thalia

Irene, Helena, Rhea, Sylvia, Phoebe, Linnea, Simone, Mariel
Nathaniel, Alden, Amias, Wilder, Jasper, Simon, Clement, Solomon

Ione, Kassiani, Acacia, Leander, Griffin, Cosmas
