    A sister for Coraline+

We already have a daughter named Coraline and recently found out our second baby is also a girl. We are having trouble on agreeing on names we both like, but one we agree on so far is Keira. Is that too close to Coraline, or especially Cora? We always call our daughter by her full name, but I wonder if that might change as she gets older.

We also both like Aria. But that name is trending very strongly right now, isn't it? I would like to avoid those types of names.

Any other suggestions? We both like relatively unique names, but my husband doesn't like place, month, or thing names.

    Thank you!

Yeah I see your point about Keira and Cora being similar! It might bother you later if she uses that nn.
I like Aria with Coraline but it does seem a little ho-hum now.

    Hi there.

Love Coraline! Keira is a little close to Coraline, & especially Cora. Aria is absolutely trendy.

    Amelie

    Aurelia

    Beatrix

    Cecily

    Delia

    Eloise

    Felicity

    Juliet

    Josephine

Juniper-okay, that's kind of a thing name, but so cute!

    Junia

    Mirabel

    Olive

    Ottilie

    Phoebe

Penelope-kind of common, although it doesn't seem like it.

    Rosalie

    Tallula

Keira and Coraline are too close in sound, in my opinion... especially if she goes by Cora as she gets older. I do like Aria. I think you're thinking it's trending a lot right now because it's on a lot of people's radar, but I'm not sure that many people are actually using it. You could always choose a longer name that lends itself to the nickname Aria for more options...

Thanks so much for all the responses and ideas!

It was helpful to confirm what my instinct was about Keira and Coraline or Cora being too close.

We are now also considering Arielle and Isabelle. I also LOVE Felicity as well as Ruby but our last name ends with a y so sadly those are out. And I love some of the other suggestions you all gave. Raina is particularly gorgeous to me, but my husband isn't a fan, unfortunately. If it helps, I think we will be using Margaret (a family name) as her middle, so will have to consider that too. Thanks again.

I love the idea of Felicity with Coraline! Are you sure a y-ending last name rules it out? I definitely think it could still work.
