    Dane from Dennis

I read somewhere that the name, Dennis comes from the Greek god Dionysius. I also heard that somehow the name, Dane also comes from Dionysius as well. Could Dane be used as an honor name for a Dennis?

I suppose so. It’s not a obvious connection but if it works for you, then go for it!

I always loved Tennyson as a connection to Dennis. It means son of Dennis.

Tennyson is great! I’ve never heard of it. Would be super cool for a middle name

Personally, I think honor names are more about the intention, than an obvious link. As long as you explain the connection to the person, they should feel honored.
