Elliott or Henry? Baby Boy 2

    Hello,

This is my first time posting and I am hoping to get some objective outside perspective on name choices for our second baby boy, due in December. Our first son is named Oliver James. I like traditional yet artistic, cute sounding names. We have a three syllable, unusual Finnish last name starting with an S, so cute names that are still easy to pronounce are my preference and we steer away from first names ending in S.

So far our top contenders are:

    Elliott
    Henry

Other names we've thrown out at one point or another:

    Benjamin
    Noah
    Nathan
    Gabriel

I'm open to other suggestions but curious on input/associations with our current list. We also plan to have a third and possibly fourth child, so also thinking ahead to ideas on sibsets.

    Thank you!!

With Oliver, I prefer Elliot. I think that you could very easily have a sibset of Oliver, Elliot and Henry (Or indeed Oliver, Elliot and Benjamin etc).
The only thing that could bother me is both Oliver and Elliot are vowels, and I would then be inclined to use other vowel names. BUT that's just me, it very much doesn't have to be you!

Both Elliott and Henry go great with Oliver! I slightly prefer Elliott, as it’s less common in my area and I meet lots of little Henrys.

Thank you for the input so far!! We definitely are leaning to Elliott, but I want to make sure I feel really confident this time. For a future daughter we love the name Annaliese so would stick to the vowel trend, but we don't really have other boy vowel names we like yet.

I prefer Elliot. Henry seem a little dull to me, to Elliot seems sweet and timeless, due to it's relatively low popularity. I also like that both Oliver and Elliot share an o sound.
I dont think the vowel trend is something you have to stick to. If you had a girl named Anneliese then had a fourth, I would keep it going, but it's perfectly fine to switch for the third

I love Henry with Oliver! Both such lovely names that are of the same style to me. My second pick would be Gabriel or Noah. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of Elliot but that’s just my personal taste; it’s a perfectly good name and I can see it with Oliver. For me though, Henry Gabriel or Gabriel Henry are standouts.
