    Settle a debate!

One of our top contending names is 'Elara' which is apparently pronouced 'EE-luh-ruh', but I would have never thought to say it that way in a million years. My husband prefers the pronounciation 'EE-lair-uh' while I pronouce is as 'EL-awr-ah'. How would you pronounce Elara?

I say El-ARE-uh. The ‘ar’ sound rhymes with car, bar etc.

Elara is a great name! I'd pronounce her as "eh-lar-uh".

I actually know someone with a baby daughter named Elara! Though I haven't heard the mother say her name, I'm under the impression that it's pronounced eh-LAR-uh with LAR rhyming with jar or far.
